| The application aims to automatize sales floor operations on retail, optimizing the usage of resources, the information flow, and reducing the shelf rupture level, in order to maximize sales and improve customer’s experience, taking advantage of CA50’s features.
RuB controls goods receiving process, the allocation of products at the backroom area, shelf replenishment, goods transference to the sales floor and its allocation, and product movements inside the store. It also controls products quantity and stock level, using specific algorithms to generate replenishment tasks.
At sales floor, shelf addresses are identified (barcodes). For each one of these addresses, products (one or more) are linked/binded and the replenishment information generated and controlled by RuB.
There are two different methods of creating replenishment tasks: proactive or reactive.
• Proactive: through a collaborative process, the store staff will visually identify the need and request a replenishment task for a specific product or address
• Reactive: through data interface, using web services, legacy systems will send information about sales and purchase of goods to RuB. It will update store stocks and, through specific algorithms, generate replenishment requests.
Store staff’s interaction with Rub is done through CA50. All the information about products, including prices, stock level described in details by store area, tasks’ requests, tasks’ execution, and message exchange is done using CA50’s features.
The store’s leadership team has access to a web-based interface, which gives them access to a Task Control Panel, Shopping Baskets (Speed-up Line feature), a KPI’s cockpit, reports, master data, and RuB configuration features.
To create a request via CA50, the employee has to scan the product and address barcode and select the task needed, in a list of options given at CA50 by RuB. Request can also be created via web-based interface.
Once created a request via CA50 or via web-based interface, this task goes to a queue in Task Management, with a specific priority based on the nature of the request (method, quantity of goods, it’s part of customer service process or not, product neighborhood,…), following a pre-defined SLA. RuB can control more than one queue at a time and these queues have a group of features that facilitate their management.
The first task in the queue is assigned to the first available store personnel and a notification message is sent to the CA50 he/she is logged on. Having accepted the notification, the person receives, through CA50, guidance on what to do and where to go.
Based on execution time control, tasks in the queue will generate messages that will be sent to store`s leaders or managers (hierarchical scalation). These messages are sent to the message box at web-based interface and as a notification to CA50. It’s possible to create text messages and send it to a specific user or to a group of users.
All the interactions and good movements are logged in RuB facilitating the control and tracking of goods. |

| Our eTWIST software is resident on Motorola mobile devices (the MC55/75/9090 series). To compliment the solution, the MC series were chosen due to the attributes and extensive list of features available. This allows an individual to collect evidence and establish chain of custody in the field. Tying the users DSN, 2D barcodes or RFID and the time and date to each and every transaction on the handheld ensures and validates each transaction. After all needed and known data is recovered, using either cellular, Wi-FI or data cradle option(s), all information is uploaded into the solution’s backend software. As each piece of evidence is placed into an “evidence vessel”, using a Zebra GX420T a thermal transfer label is produced listing the contents of the vessel and the corresponding items with the item and case number and the respective bar code of each.
The eTWIST backend software is a multi-functional, Microsoft Windows version using a MS SQL Database. All users are given different levels of functionality by the Admin using their DSN and their private password. This allows for common sharing of data, while limited each respective users, abilities to manipulate data. By using the ”WMS type“ function, an operator can place items in inventory record that location and move to others locations as needed. The system allows for Alerts or Audits, where an action for a respective piece of evidence is required. That Alert or Audit is set by the respective Policing Agency. Once again ALL transactions are time and date stamped and tied back to the case#, DSN, and password. Using Crystal Reports, reports are created and generated as needed by the respective agency.
