Symbol's Advanced Mobility Features
The Symbol Wireless Networker deploys . The product uses Power Save Polling (PSP) to extend battery life by allowing the radio to idle when not active. In addition, to prevent accidental battery
drain, the Suspend on WLAN feature allows Pocket PCs to automatically turn off the Wireless Networker based on screen activity when data is not being transmitted. The Symbol product also includes
very user-friendly set-up menu and performance monitoring features.
Symbol's Compact Flash wireless LAN adapter offers fast wireless connectivity and high performance with data rates up to 11 Mbps, with automatic rate scaling to 5.5, 2 and 1 Mbps, to maximize range
connectivity, which goes up to 300 feet/91 meters in a standard office environment. The Wireless Networker also ships with advanced security mechanisms and supports 40 and 128 bit WEP encryption,
with ongoing firmware development to support Version 5.0 when used with Symbol's wireless LAN infrastructure.
