Symbol Technologies Names New Leader for EMEA Theater
Steve Priestley Brings Record of Global Sales Success to Deliver on Symbol Channel Strategy in Europe, Middle East and Africa Regions

Symbol Technologies, Inc. , a global leader in enterprise mobility solutions, today announced the appointment of Steve Priestley as area vice president for the Company's operations in Europe, the
Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Reporting to Todd Abbott, Symbol senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Priestley joins Symbol from Cisco Systems, where for the past eight years he has served in a variety of
national and multinational sales and leadership positions. Most recently he was vice president of service providers, Northern Region, Cisco EMEA.

Throughout his 20-year career in the technology industry, Priestley has a strong record in building multinational teams to execute on business goals. In his most recent position at Cisco, Priestley
was responsible for a multimillion-dollar, industry-leading service provider business and directed cross-functional strategies including support teams, professional services and resellers geared to
extending and enhancing Cisco value and market share.
Priestley's earlier positions at Cisco include vice president of network service providers for Germany, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, France and North Africa. He also served as operations director,
responsible for new business service providers, as well as regional sales manager.
Priestley joined Cisco from Retix UK Ltd., a LAN technologies company, where for two years he was global account manager for Reuters. He was the United Kingdom sales manager at Dynatech, a
communications equipment company, for eight years and also served two years in internal sales and support at Hewlett-Packard.
The 41-year-old Priestley, a native of the United Kingdom, will be based at Symbol's EMEA headquarters in Winnersh, England. He holds a degree in electronics and electrical engineering from
Coventry Polytechnic Engineering School.
Priestley replaces Girish Rishi, who headed up Symbol EMEA operations since 2001. Rishi is returning to the United States for a position at the Company's headquarters in Holtsville, NY.
