Shared vision

Motorola and Zebra entered into an alliance in 2004 to develop products and services that combine mobile computing, RFID readers/encoders and printing devices.

Zebra has led the printer industry with the development of printer hardware and software used to create standards-based bar code labels and encoded tags for RFID implementations. Motorola has developed mobile computers, RFID reader devices and support technologies. Together, through product development collaboration, interoperability testing and cooperation on the development of industry standards, the two companies are advancing the value and safety of your investments in this emerging technology.

Markets

The Motorola-Zebra alliance focuses on creating integrated bar code printing and RFID solutions for customers in retail, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, healthcare and government industries and creating cross-industry solutions for asset tracking, price management, mobile point-of-sale, warehouse management, route accounting, package delivery, prescription labeling and patient identification.

Alliance products and projects

Motorola is currently engaged in several projects with Zebra, including the development of printer agents for Motorola's Mobility Services Platform, interoperability of Gen2 RFID products, development of RFID interface standards with Alliance Partner SAP for SAP AII, and end-to-end RFID solutions with Alliance Partner Oracle.
